I was 12 when my mother pushed a camera into my hands. It was an old Kodak Agfa, medium format camera with three settings: sunny, partly cloudy, and cloudy. It came with a beautiful leather case. It was her old camera, and I was absolutely thrilled with it. Since then, my fascination with photography has never gone away. The idea that you can freeze time just by pressing a button, isn't that magical?

My name is Frank van den Berg.
I'm working and living in Haarlem, The Netherlands. I love to work with analog camera's and film. And I love the smell of developer chemicals. My B/W foto's are shot with a Hasselblad 500 c/m or a Leica M2.
The foto's in the editorial section are usually shot on digital and were taken on commission.
